A UN Women issue paper providing guidance on integrating gender equality considerations into sustainable finance taxonomies — a key policy tool for channelling capital toward sustainable development. It addresses both how gender equality can be targeted as a priority objective within social- and sustainability-oriented taxonomies and how gender considerations can be embedded within green-oriented taxonomies. Targeting financial regulators, government authorities, financial institutions, the private sector and gender advisors, it supports the development of new taxonomies and the refinement of existing ones to better serve gender equality and women's empowerment.
