A toolkit produced by IFC as secretariat of the Sustainable Banking and Finance Network (SBFN), in cooperation with GIZ, to help financial-sector regulators and banking associations in emerging markets develop and update national and regional sustainable finance taxonomies. Part of SBFN's series on national enabling frameworks, it responds to the rapid global growth of taxonomies and the need to prevent greenwashing. It compiles approaches from 12 SBFN member countries, common steps for taxonomy development and implementation, guidance on managing environmental and social risks, interoperability, and — relevant to a gender lens — a section on designing inclusive taxonomies.
