This brief provides an overview of a case study series developed by UN Women and the Luxembourg Stock Exchange, and supported by Luxembourg Aid & Devlopment. The series features a diverse selection of innovative financing instruments, launched across developed and emerging markets, with gender equality as a theme. Each case study is a practical fact sheet about a bond issued by a range of entities, such as commerical banks, multilateral development banks, stock exchanges, investment firms, and regional governments. Some of the bonds highligted in the series have reached or are close to reaching maturity, while others are still in the first year of trading and have yet to report on allocation of proceeds and impact metrics. The cases studies demonstrate innovation by identifying gender gaps in markets and proposing solutions to reduce these gaps.
