Financial Sector Deepening (FSD) Uganda

Financial Sector Deepening (FSD) Uganda is an independent not-for-profit organisation and the country’s leading “think and do tank” on financial inclusion and inclusive financial market development. It works as a market facilitator, partnering with government, regulators, financial service providers and development partners to strengthen Uganda’s financial system through research, policy support, technical assistance and catalytic funding. Its work spans digital finance, finance for quality jobs and livelihoods, climate and sustainable finance, and financial services for women, youth, refugees, smallholder farmers and MSMEs. As part of the wider FSD Africa network, FSD Uganda has played a key role in shaping Uganda’s National Financial Inclusion Strategy and other market-level reforms, with a focus on building inclusive financial markets that create jobs, reduce poverty and improve economic resilience
