The Case for Investing in Women Entrepreneurs

This case study highlights the importance of investing in women entrepreneurs to build equitable, resilient, and prosperous economies in the face of global disruptions such as pandemics, climate change, conflicts, and growing inequality. The Covid-19 pandemic and climate change have disproportionately impacted women, stalling or even reversing progress in closing gaps for women entrepreneurs. Sustained investment in women entrepreneurs is crucial for achieving gender equality (SDG 5) and decent work and economic growth (SDG 8), especially in low-income, fragile and conflict-affected geographies.
