This case study examines how the Pacific RISE program applied a gender lens approach to impact investing in the Pacific amid limited awareness of GLI, narrow definitions of women-focused investing, traditional finance norms, and investor-driven power dynamics. The program responded by building GLI capacity through training, data collection, and a gendered investment thesis; supporting high-impact sectors for women; and developing tools for gender-based violence due diligence and power analysis. The experience offers practical insights into shifting investment practices, strengthening ecosystem capacity, and reallocating capital toward sectors that benefit women.
