Heading for Change is a donor-advised fund (DAF) making investments and grants to accelerate proven solutions to the climate crisis and advance gender equity. Their flexible toolkit, made of open-source tools, was designed not only to guide and support gender-smart climate investment decisions, but to empower a growing community of investors, advisors, and changemakers who are committed to advancing gender and climate investing. It includes a Scorecard to evaluate investments across five dimensions: Climate, gender, climate & gender integration, organizational strength, and fund terms in order to guide selection, due diligence and post-investment support. Complementing this is a Climate and Gender Due Diligence Questionnaire (DDQ) to assess how funds integrate climate and gender by examining impact, team strength, and community alignment, as well as broader social justice dimensions.
