The Gender-Smart Enterprise Assistance Research Coalition (G-SEARCh) is a coalition of six impact investors committed to building the business case for investing with a gender lens in SMEs in emerging markets. The consortium includes AlphaMundi Foundation, Acumen, SEAF, Root Capital, AHL Venture Partners, and Shell Foundation. This resource, developed by research partner William Davidson Institute at the University of Michigan (WDI), is a Google Sheet that captures the social and financial output and outcome indicators used to measure the success of gender-smart technical assistance (TA) activities implemented by small and medium enterprises (SMEs) across their business operations. These indicators, developed for participating portfolio companies in the G-SEARCh sample, can aid in continuous improvement or adaptive management, i.e., companies measure these indicators intending to use the data and insights to improve activities in real-time to achieve their desired results in complex environments.
