This report summarizes findings from a survey of 54 public development banks conducted under the 2023 Finance in Common Summit Coalition on Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment. It examines how public development banks support women and women-led businesses through existing programmes, products and practices, finding a wide range of approaches — from early-stage initiatives to established systems supporting productive finance, business development, green finance and financial literacy for women-owned MSMEs. Key challenges include limited sex-disaggregated data and insufficient understanding of women's financial needs, alongside strong opportunities to scale given social impact and market potential.
